15th Day of Chinese New Year
Today is the 15th month of Jan (Chinese calendar), also Valentine’s day in Chinese Calenda. Most Chinese gather to have reunion dinner with family & friends.
I happened to know 2 Malaysian familes that live in my neighbourhood (we moved in 2 months ago), so we decided to have a little party at my place yesterday since our families are all in Malaysia.
I have decided to make a pizza and to my surprise it turned out looking nice. I used pork sausage, sundried tomatoes, capsicum, onion & it was a hit. My visitors thought I got it from the shops…haha. I did buy a mixer just because I wanna make a pizza. I ordered it online with Deals Direct & it arrived within a week.
Raw Pizza.

15 mins later

I also cooked curry chicken from my most trusted A1 brand.
It is quite embarassing for a curry lover like me who can’t cook nice curry. My new found neighbour gave me the packet last Wednesday & told me with that, everyone can cook yummy curry.
I added extra onion, garlic & ginger (blended) & also potatoes. We had some left over for lunch today & it taste even better.
We will be having Tang Yuan (dumplings) for afternoon tea today. Eating dumplings on this special day means Tuan Yuan (reunion in Chinese). We got the forzen packet from the Asia Grocery shop in North Bridge & will add that to Black Sesame paste – yummy. Somethings are easier to get the ready made ones ![]()

May try it myself.
Thanks.

Definitely worth a try in your household of 6…haha
1. Add 1 tbsp sugar & 2 and 1/4 tsp yeast to 1 cup (250ml) of warm water, set aside.
2. Mix 375g plain flour (high protein/bread flour is better as it gives the elastic texture) with 1 tsp of salt. Make a well.
3. Pour yeast mixture & 2 tbsp olive oil (I use vegie oil) into the well, mix & form a ball.
4. Knead for 10 min. Cover with cloth & leave to rise in warm place until double (45min+) – If you have a mixer, you won’t have to knead manually, the machine does it for you…a great buy for the year 2010
5. Punch the dough to let the air out. Roll into cirlce or rectangle shape(depending on your tray) & top your filling.
6. Bake in preheat oven 200C (fan forced) & bake for 15 min or until the crust is brown.
